FirstEnergy Customer Service needs your help to recruit strong candidates for job openings at our customer care center locations in Akron, Fairmont and Reading.

Customer care representatives work in a fast-paced environment, responding to customer calls about power outages, billing, meter reading, account issues, transferring electric service and more.

“Though many customers use the convenience of virtual, text or voice technology options to contact us, FirstEnergy’s care centers still remain the first line of in-person contact for customers,” said Rick Schroth, general manager, Akron Customer Care Center. “Our representatives respond to nearly 7 million customer calls annually throughout our service territories.”

The training and experience employees gain in the care centers allows for many career growth and mobility options. This mobility is a major reason Customer Experience must consistently recruit qualified candidates.

Details & Requirements

Customer care center applicants must be at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, effective interpersonal communication skills and basic knowledge of computer operation.

Successful candidates will receive paid training at $14 to $14.50 per hour as contractors. After several months, contractors are considered for hire as full-time FirstEnergy employees, with a pay increase and employee benefits.
