Numerous nonprofit organizations throughout our service area benefit from FirstEnergy employees’ volunteerism. Here are a few great examples!

Jeremy Rinker, substation electrician leader, Penelec, spent Veterans Day volunteering at his local VFW for a special event. A local boy scout troop gave a flag folding demonstration and speech, and the VFW’s quartermaster was honored with a brick on the Semper Fidelis pathway in the National Park of the Marines in Virginia. Jeremy helped with setting up for the event and cleaning up afterwards.

A group of Mansfield employees volunteered for the Ashland County (Ohio Edison) 2022 United Way Day of Caring event. The group provided services to elderly and disabled residents.

The Customer Self-Service and Digital Transformation teams volunteered at the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank. The group bottled and packed 1,040 bottles of soap for distribution.
