Taking Action to Feed the Hungry

December 5, 2019

Making sure the less fortunate have food has always been a priority for FirstEnergy employees. Here’s just a sampling of how our employees volunteered to help feed the hungry during Day of Action activities.

These Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) employees volunteered at Lunch Break in Red Bank. Lunch Break is a soup kitchen/food pantry/clothing distributor in Monmouth County and surrounding areas. Our volunteers prepared and served lunch, stocked shelves, sorted food and assisted clients in preparing take-home grocery bags.

More JCP&L volunteers assisted wherever needed at Fulfill (Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties) in Neptune, N.J. Fulfill’s mission is to alleviate hunger by ensuring residents in need have access to enough nutritious food to maintain an active and healthy life.

Fulfill volunteers, l.-r.: Kristine Alfund, Amy Gibbs, Dianne Dworzak, Kevin Landers, Mulualem Ghebreselassie, Mia Fisher and Deavin Shaw.

Employees from the Medina Line Shop participated in a Share and Care event at the Medina County Fairgrounds. The group packed and distributed food for needy families. The event was supervised by Feeding Medina County, a cooperative agency with the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank.
