Summer Co-Op and Intern Program Highlights
Amy Irwin, Director of Continuous Improvement Distribution and Engineering, shared insights during the Leadercast session.
August 20, 2026
The Summer 2026 co-op and intern session is coming to a close, marking another memorable season of learning, development and engagement for our student participants. While the students contributed meaningful work within their respective business units, they also had the opportunity to participate in a variety of experiences designed to deepen their understanding of our company, industry and communities
Giving Back to the Community
This summer, students spent time volunteering at the Akron Food Bank, supporting an organization that helps provide meals and resources to individuals and families throughout our region. The experience offered an opportunity to make a positive difference while reinforcing the importance of community involvement
Learning from Leadership
Professional development remained a key focus throughout the program. Students attended a Leadercast session featuring Amy Irwin, Director of Continuous Improvement Distribution and Engineering. During the event, the students gained insights into leadership, career growth and the skills needed to succeed in today’s workplace
Understanding the Business
To help students better understand the broader business and energy industry, Karen Sagot, Vice President of Investor Relations, hosted a Q2 Earnings Call Debrief. The session provided a closer look at company performance, financial results and the factors that influence our business strategy and decision-making
Building Connections
Networking and relationship-building were also an important part of the summer experience. Students enjoyed an afternoon at an Akron RubberDucks game, creating opportunities to connect with peers, mentors and colleagues in a fun and informal setting.
Exploring Innovation and Operations
Participants had the chance to see our work firsthand through tours of the Center for Advanced Energy Technology (CAET) and other company facilities. These experiences provided valuable insight into our operations, technologies and the innovation helping to shape the future of energy.
Thank You, Summer 2026 Participants
Thank you to all of our co-op and intern students for the energy, enthusiasm and fresh perspectives you brought to the organization this summer. We appreciate your contributions and wish you continued success in your academic and professional journeys.
