December 18, 2018

Ohio Edison recognized the safety achievements of employees at the following service centers:

  • North Jackson’s 14 employees celebrated five years without an OSHA-recordable incident. The group also has gone more than 38 years without a chargeable motor vehicle accident. The company recognized North Jackson’s Dale Elder and Mark Young as members of Ohio Edison’s Quarter Century of Safety Club. Dale and Mark have worked OSHA-free for 37 years and 25 years, respectively. Bargaining-unit employees at North Jackson are represented by Utility Workers Union of America (UWUA) Local 118.
  • Clark reached one year without an OSHA recordable. There are 75 employees reporting to the location. The company also recognized 12 employees as members of the Quarter Century of Safety Club (see photo for details). UWUA Local 140 represents Clark’s union employees.

“Members of our North Jackson and Clark groups have shown a dedication – on a team and individual basis – to following the work practices in place to ensure their safety,” says Rich Sweeney, regional president, Ohio Edison.
