Safety Milestones in Pennsylvania

Employees in the following Pennsylvania work groups recently achieved safety milestones:
Met-Ed
- Stroudsburg – Twenty-eight employees celebrated six years without an OSHA-recordable incident.
- Dillsburg – The service center’s 21 employees achieved four years without an OSHA recordable.
- Gettysburg – Ten employees were recognized for four years of OSHA-free work.
- Easton – The service center received the Directors’ Safe Driving award for eclipsing 500,000 miles without a controllable motor vehicle accident (CMVA). There are 69 employees based at the facility.
Bargaining-unit employees at Met-Ed are represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 777.
West Penn Power
The following service center received the President’s Safety Excellence Award:
- Washington – Approximately 70 employees were recognized for working one year without an OSHA recordable and more than one year without a CMVA.
Bargaining-unit members at West Penn Power are represented by Utility Workers Union of America (UWUA) Local 102.
Penelec
- Somerset – The district’s 15 employees celebrated 19 years without an OSHA-recordable incident on July 5.
- Johnstown – Sixty-eight employees were recognized for four years of OSHA-free work on July 12.
- Clearfield – Forty-one employees reached eight years without an OSHA recordable on July 23.
- DuBois – The district’s 22 employees achieved four years of OSHA-free work on July 27.
Bargaining-unit employees at Somerset, Johnstown, Clearfield and DuBois are represented by IBEW Local 459.
Penn Power
- New Castle – Facilities has worked 20 years without an OSHA recordable and 41 years without a CMVA. There are two employees in the group. UWUA Local 140 represents union members.
