Medina Service Center

October 18, 2018

Employees at Ohio Edison’s Medina Service Center achieved two years without an OSHA-recordable incident. They also have not recorded a chargeable motor vehicle accident for more than year.

Regional President Rich Sweeney presented the President’s Safety Excellence Award to Medina’s 39 employees at a luncheon event. The company also recognized six Medina employees as members of Ohio Edison’s Quarter Century of Safety Club for working 25 years or more without an OSHA recordable (see photo for details).

“We commend and thank our Medina employees for their commitment to safety on a team and individual basis,” Rich says.

Bargaining-unit employees at Medina are represented by Utility Workers Union of America Local (UWUA) 126.

Members of the Quarter Century of Safety Club are (l. to r.): Lawrence Herold (37 years), Brian Smith (36), Louis Armbruster (40) and Tyson Cobb (36). Missing from the photo are Bobby Wills (38) and Eric Hengstenberger (39).
