Penelec presented the President’s Safety Excellence Award to employees in the following districts:

• Clearfield – for achieving five years without an OSHA-recordable incident. Thirty-seven employees work out of the district.
• Johnstown – for reaching one year without an OSHA recordable. The district has 90 employees.

Members of the Clearfield and Johnstown groups celebrated their safety milestones at separate luncheon events.

“Clearfield and Johnstown employees are setting a great example of what it takes to return home injury- and accident-free,” says Regional President Scott Wyman. “We need to build on the safety efforts of people across the company by working to recognize and eliminate exposure to injuries.”

Bargaining-unit employees at Clearfield and Johnstown are represented by International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 459.
