Safety Honors at West Penn Power

September 26, 2019

West Penn Power presented the President’s Safety Excellence Award to employees at the following service centers:

  • Charleroi – for achieving five years without an OSHA-recordable incident and more than a year without a chargeable motor vehicle accident (CMVA). As part of the five-year safety celebration, Charleroi’s 43 employees were encouraged to invite a guest to a lunch event.
  • Butler – in recognition of one year without an OSHA recordable and more than one year without a CMVA. Fifty-one employees work at the service center.

“Working safely requires a daily dedication – whether in the field or behind the wheel of a company vehicle. Members of our Charleroi and Butler groups have shown that total focus to staying safe,” said John Rea, regional president, West Penn Power.

Bargaining-unit employees at Charleroi and Butler are represented by Utility Workers Union of America (UWUA) Local 102.
