​Employees in The Illuminating Company’s (CEI) Electrical Services group recently celebrated a major milestone: 13 years without an OSHA-recordable incident.

“Working safely for such an extended period is truly an outstanding accomplishment,” said Mark Jones, CEI regional president. “Members of our Electrical Services group are setting a great example of what it takes to eliminate exposure that can result in on-the-job injuries.”

CEI also recognized the safety commitment of the Transmission Lines group at the Brooklyn Service Center. Fourteen employees who work in the group achieved two years without an OSHA-recordable incident.

“It was great getting together with Brooklyn Transmission employees to celebrate such an outstanding achievement,” Mark said. “Members of this group have shown a dedication to following the proper work practices that help to ensure everyone returns home safely at the end of the day.”

Bargaining-unit employees at CEI are represented by Utility Workers Union of America (UWUA) Local 270.
