The Illuminating Company (CEI) presented the President’s Safety Excellence Award to employees in three Operations Support groups:

• Environmental – in recognition of 17 years without an OSHA-recordable incident.
• Facilities – for working three years without an OSHA recordable.
• Fleet Services – for achieving two years of OSHA-free work.

A total of 50 employees work in the three groups. They celebrated at a lunch event.

CEI also honored employees in this Operations Services group:

• Strongsville Lines for surpassing one year without an OSHA recordable. Forty employees work out of the line shop.

“Recognizing our employees for their safety achievements is something that I truly look forward to,” said Mark Jones, CEI regional president. “Their dedication is critical to our efforts to eliminate exposure to work-place injuries.”

Bargaining-unit employees at CEI are represented by Utility Workers Union of America (UWUA) Local 270.
