Members of the Customer Contact Center in Fairmont (W.Va.) recently celebrated two years without an OSHA-recordable incident. The group includes 240 employees and 70 contractors.

“Safety isn’t about just an individual; it’s about taking the time to watch out for everyone else,” said Gary Grant, vice president, Customer Service, who attended the celebration. “We establish a culture that demonstrates that we are unwilling to accept an unsafe work environment. Safety achievements – such as two consecutive years OSHA free at the Fairmont center – do not happen because of inertia. These accomplishments happen because we will them to happen.”

Holly Kauffman, president, West Virginia Operations, also was on hand to recognize the Fairmont group. “I have toured your facility and I have witnessed your commitment to safety first-hand,” Holly said. “You’re there for each other, you look out for each other, and you help each other return home to your families every single day.”
