Safety First

The following Potomac Edison and Mon Power work groups were recognized for safety excellence.

 Potomac Edison

  • Mount Airy – The service center celebrated seven years without an OSHA-recordable incident on July 23. Thirty-eight employees work at the site.
  • Berkeley Springs – Sixteen employees were recognized for driving one year without a a controllable motor vehicle accident (CMVA) on July 31.
  • Frederick – The group’s 101 employees achieved one year without a CMVA on July 21.

Bargaining-unit employees at Potomac Edison are represented by Utility Workers Union of America (UWUA) Local 102.

Mon Power

Employees at the following service centers achieved the President’s Safety Excellence Award:

  • Clarksburg – Fifty-eight employees celebrated four years without an OSHA recordable on July 11. Bargaining-unit members are represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 2357.
  • Marlinton – The service center’s nine employees were recognized for six years of OSHA-free work on July 14.
  • Kingwood – Thirty employees enabled the center to achieve two years of OSHA-free work on July 22. IBEW Local 2357 represents union members at the site.
  • Sistersville – Nineteen employees reached one year without an OSHA recordable on July 28.
