The Illuminating Company (CEI) recognized the safety achievements of employees in the following groups:

• Meter Reading employees at the Miles Service Center surpassed 10 years without a chargeable motor vehicle accident. Approximately 20 employees work in the group.
• Substation East employees reached four years without an OSHA-recordable incident. Forty-seven employees belong to the group.
• Meter Reading employees at the Mayfield Service Center worked three years OSHA-free. The group includes five employees.

Miles, Mayfield and Substation East employees celebrated their safety milestones at separate luncheon events.

“Members of these groups have shown a dedication to eliminating exposure to job-related risks – in the field and on the road. We commend them for their efforts,” says John Skory, regional president, CEI.

Bargaining-unit employees at CEI are represented by Utility Workers Union of America (UWUA) Local 270.
