The Illuminating Company (CEI) presented the President’s Safety Excellence Award to employees in the following groups:

• Streetlighting – for surpassing four years without an OSHA-recordable incident. There are approximately 20 employees in the group.
• Underground Distribution (UD) Network – for achieving one year of OSHA-free work. Forty-eight employees are in the group.

“We appreciate the efforts of our Streetlighting and UD Network employees,” said Mark Jones, CEI regional president. “They earned this recognition with their focus on avoiding the exposures that can lead to injuries.”

Bargaining-unit employees at CEI are represented by Utility Workers Union of America (UWUA) Local 270.
