Mike Armour Sr. will retire April 1 with 41 years of service with FirstEnergy’s utilities organization. A retirement reception celebrating Mike’s career will be held on Thursday, March 12 from 2 to 4 p.m. at CEI’s Northern Region Headquarters.

After joining Ohio Edison’s Underground department in 1979 as a cable splicer, Mike worked his way through the ranks to assume various leadership positions. He’s currently on special assignment after serving as director of Operations Services at CEI.

Mike was instrumental in helping CEI ready its underground electric system – one of the nation’s oldest and largest – for the influx of attendees visiting Cleveland for the 2016 Republican National Convention. He is also a close ally of the Cleveland Clergy Coalition, helping foster the organization’s mutually beneficial working relationship with FirstEnergy over the years.

Mike has been involved in ministry most of his adult life and plans to continue to serve the local community in retirement. He and his wife became pastors at Church of God MPGT on E. 66th St. in Cleveland in October.

“Mike’s abilities as a leader and mentor are second to none,” said Mark Jones, regional president, CEI. “Knowing his passion for working with people, he will be a true blessing to everyone he serves in his new vocation.”
