Recognizing Safety Achievements

Employees in the following FirstEnergy Utilities work groups were recognized for safe work practices:

West Penn Power

Receiving the President’s Safety Excellence Award:

  • Jefferson – The service center’s 38 employees recently celebrated one year without an OSHA-recordable incident and more than one year without a CMVA.

Bargaining-unit employees at Jefferson are represented by Utility Workers Union of America (UWUA) Local 102.

The safety achievements of West Penn Power’s Regional Facilities group were featured in a Dec. 18 story on the FirstEnergy Today portal.

Potomac Edison

The following work groups were recognized:

  • Petersburg – The service center’s 13 employees have driven six years without a CMVA. Bargaining-unit employees at Petersburg are represented by UWUA Local 102.
  • Augusta – Forty-seven employees at the site achieved three years without an OSHA recordable.

Mon Power

Receiving the President’s Safety Excellence Award:

  • Mon Power Headquarters – Fifty-six employees at the Fairmont facility celebrated eight years without an OSHA recordable on Nov. 14.

Customer Service

The following work groups were recognized for safety achievements:

  • Revenue Operations – Fourteen employees who support our western Pennsylvania service territory celebrated two years of OSHA-free work. Bargaining-unit members in the group are represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 459 or UWUA Local 102.
  • Fairmont Contact Center – Members of the group achieved one year without an OSHA recordable incident on Nov. 13. There are approximately 225 employees and 75 contractors working at the site.

Employees at Mon Power Headquarters in Fairmont, W.Va., were recognized for their safe work practices.
