Last month, the Perry team achieved two significant milestones: surpassing site records for March in low dose and net generation.

The Perry team achieved the lowest-dose March in the plant’s history with 1,663.1 millirem (mrem), beating the previous best March record from 20 years ago in 1998. This record was accomplished through continued good rad worker ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) behaviors in the planning and work execution.

Perry also set a record for net generation in March with 951,635 megawatts (MW), topping the previous best in March of 2016 when 946,538 MW were generated. March 2018 was the second highest of any month in the site’s history, with the highest record set in January of this year with 952,931 MW.

In addition, this was Perry’s best quarter in net generation in the site’s history, with 2,754,009 MW, topping the first quarter of 2010 which generated 2,731,283 MW.

“Congratulations Perry team. Your continued focus and effort on operating the plant safely and reliably is clearly demonstrated in achieving these records,” said David Hamilton, Perry site vice president. “Let’s continue to improve every day so 2018 will be our best year yet. Well done Perry Team.”
