The summer months are a great time to hold family get-togethers. That certainly has been the case for employees across Penelec’s service territory.
The company scheduled family safety nights at 17 Penelec service centers, or districts, starting in late May and running through mid-September. The events have featured a variety of activities, including: safety trailer and pole-climbing demonstrations; aerial bucket rides; personal protective equipment displays; live music; and food and refreshments.
“So far, we’ve had great turnouts and have received some excellent feedback from employees,” says Brian Paganie, manager, External Affairs, and head of Penelec’s Family Safety Night Committee. “They really appreciate the opportunity to spend time with their loved ones while we showcase the procedures and protective equipment that help to ensure everyone returns home safely at the end of the work day.”
Family safety nights already have been held at the Lewistown, Shippensburg, Johnstown, Somerset, Altoona, Indiana, Erie, Oil City, DuBois, Clearfield and Philipsburg locations. The remaining schedule of events includes:
Towanda…………………Aug. 7
Montrose………………..Aug. 9
Mansfield…………………Aug. 21
Bradford…………………Aug. 23
Warren…………………..Aug. 28
