Over the Edge for Scouting

August 24, 2018

Becky Spach and Dave Hamilton make their way down.

Walks, yoga and high-rise adventures are just a few of the fundraising events FirstEnergy employees participated in this summer.

One event had a few brave employees going over the edge for charity – literally!

On Saturday, Aug. 11, volunteers rappeled down the FirstEnergy Akron General Office during Boy Scouts of America Great Trail Council’s Over the Edge fundraiser. The  event raised money for the Family Scouting Program.

FirstEnergy employees who participated in this exciting – and somewhat frightening – fundraiser were: Sam Belcher, senior vice president & president, FEU (second from r.); Dave Hamilton, site vice president, Perry Nuclear Power Plant (c.); Becky Spach, director, Vegetation Management (second from l.); and Samantha Sarah, executive assistant, Leadership (far r). Also in the photo is Bret Gensburg, Boy Scouts of America, Great Trail Council (far l.) President and General Counsel Bob Reffner is not pictured but participated in the event.

Suiting up to go over the edge.
