Our Days of Caring Were Great!

Once again, FirstEnergy employees enthusiastically volunteered for United Way Day of Caring events by participating in a variety of service projects. As always, our volunteers made a significant difference in communities throughout our service territory.
A few JCP&L employees volunteered at the Lunch Break Soup Kitchen in Red Bank. They sorted donated food and served lunch.

West Penn Power State College employees participated in the United Way of Centre County’s Day of Caring. The team cleaned headstones and landscaped a portion of the 22-acre Union Cemetery in Bellefonte, Pa.

This group of employees spent their United Way Day of Caring volunteering at the Interfaith Food Pantry in Morris Plains, N.J. The team sorted donated boxes of frozen foods into smaller packages for easier distributions to clients.

Greensburg employees spent their United Way Day of Caring at the Rewind Reuse Center and Workshop in Export, Pa. The group assembled a shelf, sorted and stocked recycled materials in the scrap shop and reorganized the workshop areas.

A group of employees volunteered at Quail Hill Scout Reservation in Morganville, N.J. Our team finished the interior demolition of the scout lodge, organized the lodge’s equipment and removed debris.

The United Way of Monmouth & Ocean Counties (UWMOC) in Wall Township, N.J., benefitted from our employee volunteerism. Our group assembled and sorted 900 bags of hygiene kits for teens for distribution to various nonprofits throughout the two counties.

A United Way employee asked the group to take a “fun Jersey Shore” photo with their United Way sunglasses. Greensburg employees volunteered at the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania office for its Day of Caring. They decorated and filled bags with weekend food supplies to be delivered to needy families.
United Way agencies in Richland County held a Summer of Caring 2022 program from July to September. This was an opportunity for Ohio Edison Mansfield employees to spend a day volunteering for projects for United Way agencies and other nonprofit organizations in Richland.
These employee volunteers cleaned the supply room at the Domestic Violence Shelter.
