Although bad weather across our service territory washed out a number of local celebrations of National Night Out on Aug. 6, Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) volunteers were able to participate in many events in their area.

“Through supporting these events, we’re proud to help foster a greater sense of community in the areas we serve,” said Jim Fakult, president, JCP&L. “It’s another example of how we serve our communities, above and beyond the reliable delivery of electricity.”

JCP&L helped sponsor and take part in National Night Out celebrations in 10 locations, including Asbury Park, Berkeley Township, Long Branch, Morristown, Neptune Township, New Providence, Point Pleasant Beach, Pompton Lakes, Red Bank and Rockaway Borough.

Members of our MOSaic Employee Business Resource Group (EBRG) helped staff booths and promoted our company’s Diversity & Inclusion efforts. Line trucks and equipment were on display at the Morristown, Asbury Park and Point Pleasant Beach events.

National Night Out is celebrated by millions of neighbors in thousands of communities across the U.S. and Canada to help support local law enforcement efforts and promote the benefits of outdoor lighting in fighting crime.
