Jersey Central Power & Light again is among the companies honored as a Champion of Good Works by the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey (CIANJ). This is the second year in a row JCP&L has received this award.

A statewide business and advocacy organization, CIANJ recently presented the award at its Companies That Care reception to recognize businesses with a focus on helping the hungry, the homeless, veterans, children and the elderly, and protecting the environment through sustainability projects and programs. CIANJ judges noted: “JCP&L employees volunteered for the Clean Ocean Action’s (COA) Annual Fall Beach Sweeps to support cleanup work at beaches in Asbury Park, Belmar and Point Pleasant. The COA Beach Sweeps is one of the longest-running beach cleanups of its kind in the world, helping rid beaches of unsightly and harmful debris.”

“We’re proud to be honored again as good corporate citizens,” said JCP&L President Jim Fakult. “I’m pleased our employees and the FirstEnergy Foundation continue to be recognized for generosity and compassion to others and for helping the environment.”
