In Memoriam

January 5, 2022

We recently lost another member of the FirstEnergy family. Curt Fauver, manager, Regional Work Management, passed away on Dec. 23, 2021, after battling health issues related to COVID-19.

“Although I have known Curt for just a short part of his 46-year career, he very much impressed me with his selflessness and dedication to his community,” said Mike Hosier, director, Toledo Edison Operations. “Through his volunteer activities with his church and the Boy Scouts, he spent much of his free time serving others. Curt will truly be missed.”

Curt served on Wauseon, Ohio, city council for several years, then was elected Mayor of Wauseon in 1986. For his involvement in helping raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House, he became known as “Mayor McCheese.”

Curt leaves behind his wife, Catherine, five daughters, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

During this difficult time, our thoughts are with Curt’s family and his Toledo Edison coworkers at the Holland Service Center. In his memory, the FirstEnergy Foundation is making a $2,500 donation to the Boy Scouts of America, the 501(c)(3) organization chosen by his family.
