Helping the Homeless

March 4, 2020
Homelessness is a growing problem in communities throughout our service territory. The FirstEnergy Foundation continues to fight the problem by providing support to local shelters and programs.
The FirstEnergy Foundation contributed $1,000 to Hope Rescue Mission (HRM) in Reading, Pa. The mission serves more than 50% of Berks County’s homeless population and provides critical emergency shelter services for more than 1,000 homeless men each year.

At the check presentation (l.-r.): James R. Smith, HRM; Christian Leinbach, county commissioner; David Turner, manager, Regional External Affairs (Met-Ed); and Robert Turchi, HRM.
The FirstEnergy Foundation provided a $10,000 check to Homeless Solutions. The organization is a private nonprofit that has been helping the homeless and working poor in Morristown, N.J., since 1983.

At the presentation are Bob Flynn, consultant, Regional External Affairs (r.), and Dan McGuire and Stephanie Cicale of Homeless Solutions.
