Helping Moms, Seniors and More

There is wide range of need throughout the communities we serve. Our employees and the FirstEnergy Foundation make it a top priority to address those needs through volunteer opportunities and Foundation support.
Members of FirstEnergy’s Supply Chain leadership team participated in a volunteer opportunity at MedWish in Cleveland. The group sorted donated medical supplies, which will be provided to in-need organizations around the world. MedWish International, a nonprofit organization, works to save lives and the environment by repurposing discarded medical supplies and equipment to provide humanitarian aid in developing countries. The Pocahontas County Senior Citizens organization recently benefited from a $500 FirstEnergy Foundation check in support of the group’s Meals on Wheels program. John Norman, consultant, Regional External Affairs (left), presented the check to John Simmons, executive director of the organization.
The Sight Center of Northwest Pennsylvania (SCNP) received a $2,500 FirstEnergy Foundation check to help provide long-term sustainability for the center’s prevention, vision rehabilitation and support services. Brian Paganie, consultant, Regional External Affairs, presented the check to Linda Hackshaw, executive director, SCNP.
