Heartwarming February Fun

March 1, 2020

FirstEnergy employees and the FirstEnergy Foundation supported two great February events: the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women Day and the Have a Heart, Do Your Part radiothon.

This year’s American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women (GRFW) luncheon was held on Feb. 14 at The University of Akron. The event continues to serve as a cornerstone of the national movement in local communities. Attendees enjoyed networking, interactive exhibits, lunch, and powerful testimonials and presentations on women’s heart health. GRFW provides a platform for women and their families to lead healthier lives, share heart health facts and drive collective action for community transformation. The FirstEnergy Foundation served as an event sponsor, and many employees attended.

Thirteen employees answered the call to participate in the Have a Heart, Do Your Part radiothon benefiting Akron Children’s Hospital (ACH) on Feb. 13-14. The event was a live broadcast on Akron’s 98.1 WKDD from the hospital’s atrium. The FirstEnergy Foundation matched donations up to $10,000 during the company’s volunteer shift. We also donated stuffed animals for ACH patients.
