The Illuminating Company (CEI) presented the President’s Safety Excellence Award to Meter Reading employees at the following service centers:

• Brooklyn – for achieving 13 years without an OSHA-recordable incident. There are 11 employees in the group.
• Concord – for working six years OSHA-free. Ten meter readers work out of the facility.
• Ashtabula – for surpassing three years without an OSHA recordable. There are eight Meter Reading employees based at the service center.

The Brooklyn, Concord and Ashtabula groups celebrated their safety milestones at luncheon events. “Whether it’s three years or 13, these employees have shown the focus required to avoid the job-related risks that can lead to injuries,” says John Skory, regional president, CEI.

Bargaining-unit employees at CEI are represented by Utility Workers Union of America Local 270.
