Fulfilling Community Needs

May 3, 2022
Here are a few examples of FirstEnergy supporting the communities we serve.
The JCP&L Green Team partnered with Fulfill Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties. Our volunteers planted 110 fruit trees at 10 community gardens that Fulfill uses to supplement the foodbank.
West Penn Power donated cleaning and personal hygiene items, as well as pet food and products, to Feeding the Spirit in Greensburg. The organization distributes approximately 200 meals weekly to those in the community. For many residents in need, these items are last on their purchase list, and they tend to go without them.
JCP&L and FirstEnergy donated eight cases of Purell handwipe packets to Family Promise of Morris County. The items will be distributed to families who receive food and other necessities through the group. Jose Ortiz, consultant, Regional External Affairs, delivered the cases.

Frank Luna, consultant, Regional External Affairs, and Elaine Vincent, advisor, Community Involvement, delivered a $10,000 FirstEnergy Foundation grant to The Mercy Center in Asbury Park. Our grant will support the organization’s food pantry.
