FirstEnergy employees made heart health a family affair by participating in the Greater Morgantown (W.Va.) Heart Walk earlier this month. The annual charity event was held May 4 at the West Virginia University Coliseum sports complex. The event is an annual benefit walk held to help fight heart disease and stroke. Attendees walked one lap around the coliseum and eight around the track to complete a 5K.

FirstEnergy fielded 38 participants, which included 14 Fort Martin employees and 15 of their family members. The FirstEnergy team raised $2,395, and the FirstEnergy Foundation provided an additional $7,000 for a grand total of $9,395 donated. In total the event raised $107,524.

Team Leaders were Fort Martin Nurse Lashelle Lee and Mon Power Regional External Affairs Consultant Libby Durr.
