FirstEnergy Welcomes Two Leaders to Key Roles

Today the company announced the hiring of two leaders to further build out a strong executive team and provide strategic support for our business objectives. Tabrina Davis is joining the company as Vice President, Communications, effective May 19. She will report to Brian Tierney, Board Chair, President and Chief Executive Officer and will join the Executive Council. Michael Auseré has been named Vice President, Financial Planning and Analysis, effective June 2. He will report to Jon Taylor, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Both Tabrina and Michael will be relocating to the Akron area.

Tabrina Davis, Vice President, Communications

In this role, Tabrina will develop and execute FirstEnergy’s internal and external communications strategies to support and promote the company’s mission and business objectives.

“Tabrina is a respected communications leader with experience supporting cultural and business transformations,” Brian said. “She will serve as a senior advisor on our executive team, lead the Communications organization and collaborate closely with senior leadership across the company to provide consistent, strategic and impactful messaging to our customers, employees, media and other stakeholders.”

Tabrina has 20 years of experience as a communications leader and has successfully developed campaigns, led employee engagement initiatives, managed crisis communications and aligned communications strategies with business objectives. Most recently, she was Vice President, Communications, Marketing and Digital Strategy at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare in the Greater Memphis Area. There she led award-winning campaigns and created employee, physician and leadership communications programs as well as supported business transformation initiatives.

She has held leadership roles in various industries including Senior Consultant and Vice President of Strategic Communications at Wyn-Win Communications, a Chicago-based Communications firm, Vice President of Communications for Northrop Grumman, a multi- national Aerospace and Defense company and Vice President of Corporate Communications at Presence Health, formerly Illinois’ largest Catholic health system.

Tabrina gained experience in the electric utility industry at ComEd, an Exelon Company, where she served in a succession of roles over 12 years, culminating as Vice President of Communications.

She earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in journalism and mass communication from Illinois State University and the University of Iowa, respectively. She is a member of the Arthur Page Society, the Memphis Association of Black Journalists and PRSA Memphis Chapter. She serves on the boards of Hattiloo Theater and New Memphis. She was also a member of the 2024 Class of Leadership Memphis.

Michael Auseré, Vice President, Financial Planning and Analysis

In this role, Michael will have responsibility for FirstEnergy’s financial planning and budgeting process and support overall achievement of the company’s financial objectives.

“Michael will be instrumental in working across our major businesses to develop a financial plan that will drive FirstEnergy’s continued growth and success,” Jon said. “His expertise in long-range planning and leading transformative change in the energy industry will support our objectives of maximizing shareholder returns and cash flows while minimizing customer bill impacts.”

Michael joins FirstEnergy with more than 25 years of energy industry experience. He most recently served as Vice President of Business Development at Eversource Energy, New England’s largest energy provider. Earlier, he was the company’s Vice President, Financial Planning and Analysis, leading budgeting and long-range planning for six power and gas utilities serving Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Previously, he held a series of financial roles at TXU Corp., a Dallas-based energy company. Following the acquisition of TXU’s power generation business that formed Luminant, he was promoted to Vice President, Planning & Analysis for the new company.

Michael began his career in public accounting at PwC, where he audited multinational energy companies and advised on mergers and security offerings.

He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from the University of Texas at Austin and is a Certified Public Accountant.
