FirstEnergy Welcomes Brian Brackney to Ohio Leadership Team

FirstEnergy has named Brian Brackney Vice President of Ohio Operations. His appointment reflects the company’s strategic business model that brings decision-making and operational oversight closer to customers, regulators and employees at the local level.

Reporting to Torrence Hinton, President of Ohio, Brian will lead operational strategy, workforce development and community engagement across a service territory of more than 2 million customers.

“Over his 25 years in the industry, Brian has distinguished himself by advancing from apprentice lineman to senior leadership roles,” said Torrence. “He has successfully led large-scale transformation initiatives, negotiated union contracts and championed inclusion across the organization. Brian’s hands-on leadership and commitment to operational excellence make him an outstanding addition to our team as we continue to strengthen our service and relationships throughout Ohio.”

Most recently, Brian served as Regional Director of the North Electric Region at Ameren Illinois, where he oversaw electric operations for roughly 500,000 customers throughout nine operating centers. In this capacity, he facilitated the advancement of system construction and maintenance, contributed to storm restoration efforts, implemented safety innovations, and worked to improve customer experience.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Illinois, Springfield.

He has served on the boards of the American Red Cross and Susan G. Komen Foundation, and was recognized with Ameren’s President’s Excellence Award. Brian will be based in Akron, Ohio.

Brian will begin working virtually on Sept. 29 – working on-site starting Oct. 1.
