For the ninth time, FirstEnergy has been recognized as a Military Friendly® Employer by the publisher of G.I. Jobs® magazine.
FirstEnergy employs more than 1,400 past and present members of the U.S. armed forces. The company was recognized for its military-friendly practices based on the results of an evaluation conducted through public and government data sources and a comprehensive survey. We exceeded benchmark standards for hiring and onboarding; opportunity and advancement; culture and commitment; support and retention; policies and compliance; and recruiting and sourcing.
FirstEnergy’s support of employees during times of military service goes beyond what is provided by many other companies. For example, during military-service-related leaves of absence, the company pays the difference between an employee’s regular FirstEnergy base salary and the military’s base wages.
To continue to position FirstEnergy as a military-friendly employer, we attend military fairs and participate in the Transition Assistance Program (TAP) Employer Panels, helping veterans make a smooth transition to a civilian lifestyle.
