Fakult to Help Guide NJ Restart and Recovery

May 20, 2020

Jim Fakult, president of Jersey Central Power & Light, is serving on a council of leaders selected from across the state to help guide the restart and recovery of New Jersey’s economy as coronavirus-related restrictions are eased.

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy convened the Restart and Recovery Advisory Council earlier this month as part of the state’s comprehensive public health and economic response to COVID-19. The group brings together more than 290 business, industry, labor, community, institutional and other leaders to advise state leadership on economic matters impacted by the pandemic.

“Our purpose is to gather the local intelligence needed to get New Jersey’s economy running again. We’re also helping create the framework for coping with the state’s new long-term economic realities,” Jim said.

The group is organized into nine committees. Council members are responsible for:

  • Representing their organization and community on a committee.
  • Calling attention to less visible economic hardships brought on by the pandemic.
  • Providing feedback and advice on emerging state and regional economic policies in continuing to confront the health crisis.

Jim is serving on the Transportation and Infrastructure committee along with leaders of electric utilities PSE&G and Atlantic City Electric, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and 35 other organizations
