Economic Development Champion

June 10, 2019

Congratulations to Pat Kelly, director, Economic Development, who was recently honored by Team NEO, a business development organization focused on creating jobs for northeast Ohio residents. Pat was recognized as a regional economic development champion at a Team NEO event in early May in Cleveland.

Pat has worked with Team NEO for many years. He served as a loaned executive who helped jumpstart the organization in 2003. His numerous contributions to economic development in the region have been described as extraordinary and his counsel is routinely sought after by many organizations.

“Pat knows economic development and his commitment is unmatched. His fingerprints are on 24 years of projects throughout our state and territory. He has really made a difference,” said Joel Bailey, vice president, State/Local Affairs and Economic Development. Joel had the honor of introducing Pat for the awards presentation.

In his current position, Pat leads development activity across FirstEnergy’s Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, West Virginia and Maryland service territory. He plans and implements our corporate strategy by building relationships with economic development organizations at the national, state and regional levels.
