Doing Good in New Jersey

January 26, 2021

With help from the FirstEnergy Foundation and our generous employees, New Jersey families in need had an enjoyable holiday season. Here are a few great examples.

Jackie Espinoza, consultant, Regional External Affairs (l.), is shown with Sandyston Township’s Amy Lobban after presenting a $200 JCP&L donation for the municipality’s Has a Heart event. The fundraiser supports families in need during the holiday season.

Frank Luna, consultant, Regional External Affairs (c.), is joined by John Pallone, mayor of Long Branch (l.) and Luciana Silva, DEPCA (Development, Education, Personal-growth, Culture, Assistance) Foundation for a $1,000 FirstEnergy Foundation check presentation. DEPCA develops programs to benefit local children and disadvantaged adults.

Santa Claus joined Frank (third from r.); Long Branch’s Mario Vieira and John Pallone; and U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone (second from r.) at the city’s Christmas tree lighting. JCP&L contributed $1,000 for holiday decorations and lights.

The JCP&L Chapter of Women in Leadership Employee Business Resource Group (EBRG) held a grocery food drive for Aslan Youth Ministries’ client families. The nonprofit organization serves some of the most impoverished areas within Long Branch, Red Bank and Asbury Park in Monmouth County. Since 1975, Aslan has provided community development programs with a focus on the spiritual and educational development for children and at-risk youth.
