Davis-Besse employees recently made donations to two community groups located near the plant.

In recognition of plant employees meeting the May goal for behavior-based safety observations, the VOLTS team delivered a donation to the Ohio Veterans Homes in Sandusky, Ohio. More than 600 veterans, ranging in age from 42 years old to over 100, reside in the facility, which provides specialized care to those who have honorably served our country.

In addition, the Davis-Besse Women in Nuclear (DBWIN) group recently donated 15 buckets of cleaning supplies and laundry baskets to Covered International in Toledo, Ohio. The organization educates, advocates and empowers women affected by domestic violence, commercialized sexual exploitation and human trafficking. Its primary focus is to build a healthy community  around each woman and child through a mentor program. Items were given to women who have received training through one of Covered International’s programs, aimed at teaching women how to care for and maintain their homes.
