More than 43,000 West Penn Power customers lost power following a strong storm in late August. After completion of the multi-day restoration effort, David Omatick, regional External Affairs consultant, received this email from a municipal official in Fayette County.

Our thanks to West Penn Power for its awesome response to problems in Perry Township and surrounding areas this past weekend. Your entire organization from dispatch to repairs was awesome in my humble opinion. As a retired utility (natural gas) employee, I know the challenges faced in critical situations like this weekend – and your response deserves recognition.
