Customer Shout-Out

August 21, 2020
Earlier this summer, a power outage occurred at Karns City (Pa.) High School an hour before its planned graduation ceremony. Fortunately, a West Penn Power line crew from the Butler Service Center was in the area. Led by Regional Operations Supervisor Paul Blum, the crew quickly restored service by switching the school onto another circuit while they repaired the damaged equipment.
The high school submitted the following note of appreciation commending Paul and fellow crew members Shawn Beranty, lead lineman, and Isaac Terwilliger, lineman B, for making sure Karns City students got to have a graduation ceremony.
Dear West Penn Power:
I wanted to express my deepest appreciation on behalf of Karns City High School. The power outage an hour prior to graduation was not what we had planned, but your crews were so quick, efficient and helpful, graduation took place on time and without a hiccup! Thank you all so very much!
