Celebrating Safety Excellence

The following work groups were recognized for their commitment to safety.

Toledo Edison

  • Holland B – The operations center celebrated 22 years without an OSHA-recordable incident on Dec. 15. Sixty-three employees are based at the facility. Bargaining-unit employees at Holland B are represented by Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU) Local 19.

Mon Power

  • Summersville – The service center marked one year without an OSHA recordable on Dec. 25. Seventeen employees work out of the facility.

Penelec

  • Erie – Twelve employees in the project crew celebrated five years without an OSHA recordable. The company’s project crews focus on transmission line maintenance and improvements. Bargaining-unit employees at Erie are represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 459.

West Penn Power

  • Substations – Members of this craft line achieved two years without an OSHA recordable on Dec. 5. There are 142 employees in the group.
  • Fleet Services – Thirty-five employees in the group marked two years of OSHA-free work on Nov. 8.

Bargaining-unit members at West Penn Power are represented by Utility Workers Union of America (UWUA) Local 102.

Distribution Support

  • Forestry – Celebrating 14 years without an OSHA recordable were 17 employees who support vegetation management in the West Penn Power service territory.
