Penelec held luncheon events to recognize the safety commitment of employees in the following districts:

• Altoona celebrated two years without an OSHA-recordable incident. There are 115 employees in the group. Bargaining-unit employees are represented by UWUA Local 180.
• Warren’s 44 employees achieved one year of OSHA-free work. IBEW Local 459 represents union employees in the district.
• Lewistown marked one year without an OSHA recordable. The district is home to 36 employees. Bargaining-unit members are represented by UWUA Local 180.

Penelec Regional President Scott Wyman presented the President’s Safety Excellence Award to the Altoona, Warren and Lewistown groups. “FirstEnergy Utilities continues to take a renewed focus on keeping employees safe,” Scott said. “The support of groups like Altoona, Warren and Lewistown will be critical to our efforts to understand and eliminate exposure that leads to injuries on the job.”
