CEI Line Workers Front and Center in Browns Home Opener Video
September 22, 2020
Right before the Cleveland Browns took the field Thursday evening at FirstEnergy Stadium for the “battle of Ohio” against the Cincinnati Bengals, several of our line workers from The Illuminating Company (CEI) made a prominent showing in the team’s home opener video.
The Browns’ video was a salute to frontline workers − a tribute to those in our communities who have continued providing essential services throughout this public health emergency. CEI lineman from the Strongsville Service Center and FEU Safety employees were featured along with medical professionals, grocery store employees, food service workers and police officers.
The Browns showed the video at the start of their Thursday night game and shared it on social media.
Because of the pandemic, this year’s NFL season looks a lot different than previous years – and so does this year’s fan engagement at FirstEnergy Stadium. During the 2019 season, we kicked off our Best Fan Energy campaign which included signage throughout the concourse, social media posts as well as a FirstEnergy tent on Dawg Pound Drive where fans could play virtual reality football, take pictures in our photobooth, pick up giveaways like T-shirts and handwarmers, and so much more.
With fewer fans attending the games, the 2020 season promotion is completely virtual. Fans who post a photo on Twitter using #BestFanEnergy will be entered into a sweepstakes for a chance to win tickets to an upcoming Browns home game. Look here for more details on the Browns sweepstakes.
