An Army of Volunteers

August 30, 2021

Whether it’s fighting the war against hunger or helping to restore a home for a nonprofit, our Veterans & Allies EBRG is doing good in the communities we serve.

Mon Power Veterans & Allies supported a food distribution event at the Clarksburg Veteran’s Memorial Park. The Mountaineer Food Bank holds this event on the third Friday of every month, when veterans and their families receive monthly food boxes. More than 250 meals were distributed during the two-and-a-half-hour event.

At the event (l.-r.): Tiffany Latocha, general supervisor, Meter Reading; Joe Heubi, general manager, Regional Operations Services; Walt Larnerd, supervisor, Revenue Assurance; and Deb Coplin, supervisor, Regional Operations Line & Substations.

Employees at Ohio Edison’s Elyria Line Shop, including representatives from Veterans & Allies EBRG – Ohio’s Leadership & Mentoring Committee, recently helped restore a home for the My House organization. This is a new residential program that provides transitional housing for young men who are too old for foster care, yet not established in their adult education and careers. The site formerly served as the location of We Care We Share, a Lorain-based nonprofit offering programs to care for families in need within the community.
