An Abundance of Volunteerism

November 3, 2021

Employees in our West Penn Power service area extended the day of caring and instead held a Week of Caring. Here are a few highlights:

L.-r.: Deanna Dewitt, supervisor, Joint Use & Cable, and Andy Bowen, distribution technician IV, spruced up the outside of Clelian Heights School for Exceptional Children in Greensburg.

Donna Cline, senior business analyst, also volunteered at Clelian.

Terri Mauersberg, IT project manager, and Laurie Peddicord, advanced legal specialist, organized items at Beverly’s Birthdays in Irwin, Pa. The organization provides birthday cheer and critical baby care items for children experiencing homelessness and families in need.

Also lending a hand at Beverly’s Birthdays was Lurene Moore, drafter IV.

Jen McElroy, IT project manager IV, volunteered at Rewind-Reuse Center and Workshop in Export, Pa. The nonprofit provides a stimulating space to educate, inspire and empower children and adults of all abilities to appreciate the arts and cultural diversity. It is dedicated to a green initiative by reusing discarded materials rather than sending items to landfills.
