Sweet Success

April 28, 2020

Just prior to the social distancing and stay-at-home mandates, FirstEnergy employees held a number of tasty food fundraisers, sports competitions and silent auctions to keep our Harvest for Hunger campaign moving.

These two sweet treat fundraising examples come from The Illuminating Company (CEI) and Akron.

CEI Customer Support employees at our Northern Region Headquarters held an ice cream social and golf putting contest. The combined events raised $330.

Members of the Akron General Office third floor Harvest for Hunger Committee (Ibrahim Chahine, drafter II and Scott Humphrys, supervisor, Transmission Siting West), along with General Office Security officers, held a two-day ice cream social in the plaza lobby. All items for the ice cream social were donated by third floor employees. The events raised $125.
