In Memoriam

February 21, 2022
We recently lost another member of the FirstEnergy family. Jeff Renzler, senior power plant operator from the Harrison Power Station, passed away on Feb. 7, 2022, after battling COVID-19. He was just 38 years old.
“Jeff’s quality of work was always top notch, and he took his job very seriously,” said Scott Swiger, Harrison Power Plant operations superintendent. “Everyone enjoyed being around Jeff and he was always willing to pitch in and help his coworkers. Jeff will be greatly missed at Harrison Power Station.”
Jeff served as an intern in 2009, then was hired full-time in 2013. Jeff leaves behind his wife and two young sons. During this difficult time, our thoughts are with Jeff’s family and his Harrison Power Station coworkers.
In his spare time, Jeff loved watching Ohio State football, spending time with family and friends, and had a passion for his exotic gecko and sports memorabilia collections.
In his memory, the FirstEnergy Foundation is making a $2,500 donation to the Harrison County Child Advocacy Center, the 501(c)(3) organization chosen by his family.
