Staying Focused on Safety

The following employee work groups achieved safety milestones:

Potomac Edison

  • Augusta – Forty-six employees celebrated four years of OSHA-free work on Nov. 6. The service center also achieved one year without a controllable motor vehicle accident (CMVA) on Nov. 22.
  • Petersburg – The service center eclipsed seven years without a CMVA on Nov. 27. Twelve employees work at the facility. Utility Workers Union of America (UWUA) Local 102 represents bargaining-unit members.

Mon Power

  • Headquarters – Fifty-four employees at the Fairmont facility achieved nine years without an OSHA recordable.

Customer Operations

  • Fairmont – Members of the customer contact center celebrated two years of OSHA-free work on Nov. 13. There are approximately 225 employees and 75 contractors in the group.

The Illuminating Company (CEI)

  • Strongsville – Forty employees in the Lines group surpassed one year without an OSHA recordable.

Bargaining-unit employees at CEI are represented by UWUA Local 270.

Ohio Edison

  • Kent – Meter Services celebrated three years without an OSHA recordable and seven years without a CMVA. There are four employees in the group.

Bargaining-unit employees at Kent are represented by UWUA Local 126.
