Members of the Veterans & Allies EBRG were among the employees volunteering for three events at SAM (Serving Area Military) Center in Massillon, Ohio. On average, each event supported 100 veterans and nearly 200 family members. Our volunteers set up and dismantled for the food distribution event, packed food and personal care items, sorted clothing and other donations and prepared backpacks with school supplies for children of veterans. Founded in 2015, SAM is a community of veterans and military supporters who assist local heroes and their families. The organization collaborates with other community agencies to ensure programs are not being duplicated, while the gap in assistance is being filled.

Employees from Penelec’s Lewistown facility participated in the Mifflin-Juniata United Way Day of Caring. The volunteers performed various tasks to support the needs of the United Way agencies.
