Coming to the Aid of Others

December 2, 2021

Two nonprofit organizations in West Penn Power’s territory recently benefitted from our employees’ volunteerism and FirstEnergy Foundation support.

City of St. Marys officials joined numerous community sponsors in holding a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new outdoor fitness court. St. Marys participates in the National Fitness Campaign, a nonprofit dedicated to helping communities fund, build and activate these fitness sites. The FirstEnergy Foundation donated $6,500 for the project.

On behalf of the FirstEnergy Foundation, Joleen Hindman, consultant, Regional External Affairs (c. behind child), congratulates city officials and community members for seeing the project through during the many challenges of the pandemic.

State College employees took advantage of Volunteer Time Off to assist Habitat for Humanity of Greater Centre County at its newest build. Our volunteer crew hauled 17 tons of stone.

Taking a well-earned break, l.-r., are: Tony Wess, distribution technician III; Larry Burge, line troubleshooter; Dora Harris, distribution technician I; Dale Reed, distribution technician supervisor; and Seth Miller, Customer Account specialist V.
