Celebrating Safety Excellence

Employees in the following operating company work groups were recognized for their safety commitment.

Penelec

  • Shippensburg – The district celebrated 14 years without an OSHA-recordable incident. Fourteen employees work in the group.

Utility Workers Union of America (UWUA) Local 180 represents bargaining-unit employees at Shippensburg.

West Penn Power

The following service centers received the President’s Safety Excellence Award:

  • St. Marys – Thirty-five employees were recognized for achieving three years of OSHA-free work on Sept. 11.
  • Clarion – Fifteen employees celebrated four years without an OSHA recordable and more than one year without a controllable motor vehicle accident (CMVA) on Sept. 20.
  • Kittanning – Thirty-eight employees achieved four years without an OSHA recordable on Sept. 27.

Bargaining-unit employees at West Penn Power are represented by UWUA Local 102.

Potomac Edison

  • Thurmont – The service center achieved two years without a CMVA on Sept. 3. Thirteen employees work at the facility.
